In this class, you will learn how to make changes to shapes that will create interlocking patterns! Just like MC Escher! It's a lot of fun and a lot of information. Who knew?? Not me! So the biggest thing to learn is that there are rules of symmetry that you must use when you are creating your shapes in order for them to "tessellate" successfully.

So, I made you a big PDF with all the information in it! This will be a great reference when you need to remind yourself of the details. It's a 55 page guide and I love the PDF app called CollaNote for organizing and viewing my PDFs so I will show that to you too.

Here's a simple starting shape that has had some specific changes made to it in order to get a whole new shape. From there, you can create your tessellation! This is an example of a tessellation that doesn't represent a specific thing such as an animal. It's just one way to have fun with Tessellations!

And here is an example of a representational tessellation where changes are made to a basic shape in order to create a shape that looks like something specific! Houses, fish, birds, cats, so many possibilities!

All of these things take experimenting and practice but they are so much fun!
